Assistant Athletic Trainer

Elms College is seeking an Assistant Athletic Trainer. The Assistant Athletic Trainer is responsible for evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for male and female student athletes in a 17-sport NCAA Division III athletic program.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

*Preparation and coverage of practices and games. *Coordinate pre-participation exams/clearances with the institution's health services and physicians. *Risk management and prevention of athletic injuries. *Help to prepare and maintain an annual budget and medical supplies inventory. *Assist with the development of emergency action plans for all sports and multiple venues. *Supervise athletic training students in a preceptor capacity. *Perform required record keeping for injury, treatment, and rehab notes on a daily/yearly basis. *Plan, implement and monitor rehabilitation programs for student athletes. *Manage the daily operations of the athletic training room. *Must be able to communicate effectively with coaches, student athletes, and parents (if applicable). *Must have the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. *Must be flexible as schedules change. *Limited travel required. *Other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications *Minimum of a Bachelor's degree. Master's degree preferred. *Prior athletic training experience in a collegiate setting preferred. *Current BOC certification. *Massachusetts Athletics Trainers license. *First Aid, CPR and AED Certification Required. * Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills. *Able to utilize computer functions and software such as spreadsheets, internet searches, and web-based medical records. *Valid driver's license and good driving record required.
