Job description

Real Estate Investment firm, headquartered in Bostons Back Bay is seeking an Accounting Manager to prepare the financial reporting for the portfolio of residential land development projects as well as corporate reporting.

Job Description:

Responsible for accounting duties of a complex nature in support of accounting functions. Responsible for assisting in the preparation of monthly balance sheet account analyses, corporate bank reconciliations and responding to any inquiries received from corporate, general and administrative departments. Also responsible for assisting of the posting of journal entries and maintaining the general ledger accounts and reports.


  • Responsible for the day-to-day accounting of the corporate, development, venture capital and fund portfolios
  • Primary contact for audit with vendors
  • prepare 1099s
  • Maintain cash, accrual and tax basis general ledgers and close on a monthly basis
  • Prepare monthly workpapers and reporting packages for investors and management
  • Manage intercompany process; track activity and reimburse monthly
  • Coordinate with fund administrators and record monthly activity
  • Assist in the year-end audit and tax return process with outside accounting firms
  • Maintain cash forecast models and monitor cash flow
  • Prepare capital call and distribution notices along with other internal treasury procedures
  • Consolidation of entities
  • Prepare Fair Market Value Financial Statements and other Executive-level reports
  • Work with Legal/Contracts team to enter contract budgets into Sage


  • Bachelor's degree with a major in accounting
  • High level of computer skills; including Microsoft Office especially Excel, Sage a plus
  • Approximately 3-5 years of accounting and relevant industry experience, CPA a plus
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to demonstrate critical thinking skills for problem solving
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
  • Strong knowledge of corporate structures and property operations
  • Ability to drive results and meet strict deadlines
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles
